A native of northern Ontario, C.M. Gibson is happy to finally be back. After spending most of her childhood in southern Manitoba, and her high school years in southern Ontario, she went to McMaster University to earn a degree in Biology. But her heart was always in the north. She spent her summers volunteering at Dorion Bible Camp, recharging on weekends with her grandparents in Nipigon, and came to Lakehead for her Bachelor of Education.

After 6 years teaching high school across Canada and overseas, she decided she wanted to help people in a way that she wasn’t able to, as a teacher. While searching for a way to get to the root of her own health issues, she discovered Naturopathic Medicine. And so began another round of schooling, this time in Toronto at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.

It was worth it! Having seen what naturopathy was able to do for her, she is excited to begin helping others. She hopes to be a true family doctor, seeing patients from birth to end of life. She has a particular interest in treating eczema, allergies, autism, and behavioural disorders; digestive issues and food sensitivities; autoimmune disorders, including thyroid issues; fatigue, stress and mental health; hormone imbalances; and obesity and diabetes. She also loves using natural medicine to treat common ailments like colds and flus, sprains and strains - and teaching her patients how to care for themselves and their families. Her passions are preventing illness by optimizing health, natural options to improve fertility and birth outcomes, and providing hope for those with eating disorders and food addiction. She uses primarily nutrition, lifestyle, herbs, homeopathic medicine, massage, and hydrotherapy. She also offers acupuncture and is able to prescribe bioidentical hormones.

Crystal Roen, a proud Schreiber native, has always had a deep love for the outdoors. From hiking and swimming to snowboarding and hockey, staying active has been an integral part of her life. She began her fitness journey right here in Terrace Bay, teaching swimming and aqua aerobics at the local pool. Her enthusiasm for sports and fitness led her to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at Lakehead University, where she graduated in 2019. During her time at Lakehead, Crystal gained invaluable experience working with varsity sports teams, honing her skills in wrapping, taping, and delivering postural correction exercises as part of her co-op education. Over time, her passion for athletics evolved into a broader commitment to health and helping people stay active at every stage of life. This drive took her to the University of Sydney in Australia, where she earned a Master’s in Physiotherapy. After graduating, Crystal worked as a physiotherapist in a community clinic overseas. There, she provided hydrotherapy in the pool, designed personalized exercise programs, and utilized hands-on therapies and modalities like cupping. Despite enjoying her time in Australia, Crystal felt the pull of home and her desire to give back to her community. Now back in her beloved small town, she’s in the process of attaining her physiotherapy license in Canada. Crystal is excited to help you achieve your wellness goals and looks forward to supporting the health and vitality of her community!
